On WinXP, the setting has been disabled, by me or by default, I guess by me.
It must be by you. As I reported years ago, this stupid setting is activated by default also in XP: http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=118131#118131
I never really paid much attention to that setting as I mostly use the mouse. Thanks for pointing it out.

:) I appreciate especially the internal associations, it solved an annoying Win bug
("" of "%1" vanishing contunually for some file-types).

- Other features are less important to me, there is a pinch of Unicode files here, and I'm not a fan of the Breadcrumbs

Hi, folks.

Here are the new features which I like best and use regularly:
  • Breadcrumb navigation
  • Internal associations
  • Long descriptions in descript.ion
  • Quick filtering (Ctrl+S)
  • Unicode filename support inside ZIP archives (ZipUnicode=3)
  • 64bit context menu (at work)
  • Full Unicode support (at work)
Cheers,
Karl

1. Quickfilter (QuickSearchAutoFilter=1, Q.S.MatchBeginning=0, Q.S.ExactMatch=0, AltSearch=3) WOW  that's really fast navigation.
2. Button bar as menu
3. Command line parameter (/S=C, /S=L,..)
4. Breadcrumb bar navigation (BreadcrumbDelayButton=-1, B.c.Separator=0, B.c.DelayDir=50)
5. Internal associations
6. Line break in button bar
7. Enhanced support for x64 (context menu, SysNative, cm_SwitchX64Redirection)

Regards
Holger

Hm, I do wonder how you manage not to use the Unicode capabilities of T.C. 7.50, because (almost) all the internal functions and procedures have been re-written to support Unicode.

1. Unicode Support (in all its appearances, as looong paths or different OS ans TC`s menu language etc. )
2. Quick filter (as Ctrl+S), while quick search still "letter only". I use them both! Veery useful.
3. New buttonbars (instead of TCMenu) and keyboard access to it.
4. Internal associations (still combined with F4Menu and Apploader).
5. Win key as modifier

Seldom used Breadcrumb
Never used Multiline descript.ion

Still waiting for burning functionality :)

In order of importance to me:
1. Unicode (filenames, menus)
+ paths > 259 chars
+ unicode plugins (DirSizeCalc, Imagine)
2. Button bars as menus
3. Standalone Sync Dirs tool
4. Quickfilter

Though in order of frequency I think Quickfilter is most used.

Not used:
- breadcrumb navigation (used it for a while, but disabled it afterwards)
- internal associations (have been and still am using Alt+F3 associations)

What else I wanted to see:
- CD/DVD burning (FoxBurner SDK) - currently still using TCBurner plugin
- Unicode user name in license / title-bar / about-box

It is as if you have an airplane but you don't fly, just driving by roads as in a car :)
I had to rewrite (and then to restore in pb3) many of my scripts that find windows with specific classes ("TMyListBox.UnicodeClass" rather than "TMyListBox").
What Unicode is I know only from the theory. I've never seen a file with Unicode name.

Thanks everyone upthread for describing some of the advanced uses of the Internal Associations function! Now, if someone could do the same for 'Button bars as menu' it would be much appreciated, because I can't really see the advantage.

2ArchCarrier,

The advantage is that you can have a single button contain a whole new button bar as a drop down menu. You could have multiple buttons doing the same thing.

Thanks, Boofo.
So far I've only used the button bar to place shortcuts to programs and they still all fit nicely on one line. But I've been exploring the internal (and my own defined) commands lately, and I can see that those might be handy as buttons as well. I'll check them out :)

2ArchCarrier: Here you will find "A basic button bar menu demo".
Hope that helps.
