TC 7.04a: Application error when copying/moving files
In about a third of file copy or move operations my TC crashes with the error message: "Exception EAccessViolation in module TOTALCMD.EXE at 001F9AFC. Access violation at address 005FAD28. Read of address 00000038." The problem is more frequent when copying/moving to or from or between USB drives.
It is also interesting that TC loses focus (window jumps in the background) every time after the successfull move or copy operation.
Operating system is WinXP SP2. The last application installed is Ultramon to enhance the support of multiple monitors, but I cannot correlate the problem with that.
Any suggestions?

Unfortunately the error you report isn't in TC itself. It must be caused by some file system monitor, e.g. a virus scanner or firewall tool.

Yes, I had Ultramon 3.0.4 beta (they seems to be in beta for couple of years nowYanek wrote:Mezon, do you have UltraMon installed?
I had the same problem with UltraMon 3.0.4 beta when second monitor was enabled.
I fixed the problem checking "don't add custom buttons to dialogs and message boxes" in UltraMon options at "Buttons and Menu Commands" tab.

I will also try your suggestion with Ultramon's options.
Thanks, everyone.

Thanks for your feedback! Can you report the problem to the makers of Ultramon too, please? Maybe they can fix it, or at least tell me what I need to change to make their tool work with Total Commander...

same error here.
i think caused by the program filbox extender.
http://www.hyperionics.com/files/index.asp
the google search results where very short:
http://www.google.com/search?q=005fad28
so i easily found the problem
added an exception for totalcommander in filebox extender. looks like this solved the problem.
both programms, filebox extender and ultramon are hooking in the "window frame" and adding some icons.
maybe you can fetch this error in some way.

I'm using Filebox Extender 2.00.02 with TC 7.5 beta without any problems. Which version do you use?
