And it seems to have more than 8 lines.Total Commander v7.50 Public Beta 7:
Here are the additions in public beta 7 pre 1:
- Installer: Improved handling of multiple languages, included
a few translations of the installer, and a new language
(Romanian). I plan to include Russian too, but will have to wait
for the consent of the translator
- Stack trace on error: I found out that it started the trace at the
wrong location! It started at the nearest function with a try/except
block instead of the function with the crash! So if you sent me
a crash report, please try to get a new one with beta 7!
- New button bar hotkeys: Ctrl+Right/Left jumps to button after
next/previous separator, Alt+Enter opens button change dialog
- Thumbnails view: Support for Unicode text (with BOM)
- and of course again many bugfixes
Here are the additions in public beta 7 pre 2:
- Installer: Some small improvements suggested in the forums,
like using the display language instead of the control panel
language for the first installation
- Fixed a few memory leaks which I found in the new functions
- Not in history.txt: HTTP downloads now don't use any Delphi
strings at all, may have been the cause of crashes
- Lister started via /S=L switch: Pass parameters to Lister just
like to standalone lister.exe, plus a new one which allows to
choose the plugin used (e.g. for a button to view a file with a
specific plugin)
- and of course again many bugfixes
Here are the additions in public beta 7:
The program totalcmd.exe has not been changed this time,
because there were only minor problems. Just some installation
files were added/updated:
1. Russian is now included in the standard installation. I'm using
the newer translation by user "Flint", who is also a beta tester.
Many thanks to him!
2. Russian and Slovenian are now also working in the installer.
3. The help file was updated slighly too.

Kind regards,
Karl

Hello ! Welcome aboard !
• That doesn't occurs in XP-Pro, I tested 9 lines (total 512 characters), no crash when the mouse hovers the file-name…
… the comment is displayed alright as expected.
- Please, could you give us an example ? TIA !
Kind regards,

No line limit

Again…
• TC 7.5 supports up to 4,095 characters in the <descript.ion> comments. Please, have a glance HERE
- AFAIK, there is no lines number limit, and like you can see above in the karlchen's message that doesn't matter…
- Did you get some stack trace when the crash occured ? If you could reproduce and get one, please show it here,
that would help the Author.

Does it still hang when you turn off the option "Comments from Explorer" via Configuration - Options - Display?
There may be an Explorer extension on your system which doesn't like such long comments.
