Application Error at quitting TC 7.5 pb7

Hello,

since the update from pb6 to pb7 I'm getting this Application Error when quitting TC.

Exception EAccessViolation in module TOTALCMD.EXE at 000648E1.
Access violation at address 00465B0D. Write of address 00DE0051.

It's strange, just after the start of TC and without performing any actions besides closing by mouse or ALT+F4, I'm getting this Application Error.

I'm using some plugins (7zip, Imagine, Iso) on WinXP Pro SP3 32-bit.

Seems you are not alone. Only yesterday, waelder reported about TC75b7 access violation on exit.

I wonder whether on your system, too, OODefrag 11 background monitoring may be active?

Please read my questions in that other thread and try to answer them too. I don't get this error on XP SP3...

I am now getting the following error on closing. I am using XP Pro SP3, if that helps.

That's the exact same error as the one posted by Tomyboy. What did you do in TC to get the error?

Some users write that it happens when they use USB sticks, some when they open a PDF file in Foxit reader, some when a network connection goes down. I could not reproduce this error in any of these situations.

The write address for Tomboy's is different from the one I posted. It is strange as it was happening when I was doing nothing special. I tested it by opening TC and then just closing it again and it gave the same error every time but not always the same write address. But now it seems to be not giving an error on close at all. I normally just minimize it to the tray but sometimes accidentally close it when clicking the wrong button (the X). It seemed to be a random thing as I have never had it error on close before build 7. I don't have any USB sticks so that can't be the problem.

Well, we will see whether it's fixed in the next beta or not. I still cannot reproduce it.

I had the same problem on exit:

EAccessViolation in module TOTALCMD.EXE at 000648E1.
Access violation at address 00465B0D. Write of address 00DA8F49

Occured only once. I accidently opened a second copy and closed it immediately again. When i tried again to open a second copy and close it again the error did not occure.

I could finally find out the reason (thread was removing itself too quickly). The private beta testers can already test whether the bug is still there...

Have not experienced any access violation of the reported type

since T.C. 7.50 pb8 (pre1) had been installed.

So it seems as if this problem has been fixed. - Yet, it may be wise to keep an eye on it for a few more days before calling the case "closed", because the access violation did not occur on every shutdown of T.C.
