Adjust file attribute date+time with base + offset

Post by *Timerider »

Hi,

I did a forum search but couldn't find any discussions about this topic.

A number of time our digicam has reset its time and all photos had dates + times months/years off. I'm sure this has happened to other users too..!

Fortunately with TC I can alter the date/times of multiple files!

But, when I mark 100 photos and change the date/time then all pics get exactly the same date and time.

Ideal would be if they would all be adjusted by the same offset, e.g. if I know one of the pics was taken at midday then I correct this one and all others adapt, so evening pics have evening datestamp etc.

This could be solved by having 2 columns (like multi-rename) with camera's date/time on the left and the adjusted one on the right, so I have a preview and can "play around", like with the wonderful multi-rename tool!

I welcome your feedback and many thanks for a great product which I've been using for 10 yrs and couldn't live without!!

Regards,

Barry Hill

Some good search results get listed with search term "addtime".
Two examples:

AddTime Addon (by Hacker)

TimeAdjust - change or copy file dates/times (by me; final version 1.00 will be released the next days, if all goes well)
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Timerider,
Just like StatusQuo said, but if you want to adjust the EXIF times as well, you will need a more sophisticated tool, like XnView.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Thanks for the hints (and the reminder of the exif time)!
It seems to be a topic to watch closely in the near future!

Now all I have to do is figure out the command line to assign to a button invoking an input window to enter the desired adjustment period.

From your responces I guess it won't be added to the existing change attribute function or the multi-rename tool? (sigh, hope!).
