Synchronize directories: differences on which site ftp is
Hi,
i get different results when i synchronize a local and a ftp directory.
When the local directory is on the left site and the ftp directory on the right, the result only shows me files which are not present on the other:

when i switch the sites (local directory to the right site and the ftp directory to the left) the result shows me a few files, total commander identified as different:

But when i let total commander compare the files, it says that they are identical (what they are really):

The file in the scrrenshot is a normal ASCII File (not UTF-8) with DOS format on the local site.
I can rebuild the error with many different ftp servers and local files.
It also happens with the actual RC2 of total commander

you're right. but the two files are identical excepting the line wrap charsBut in the pictures the files are actually different in size...
windows on the local side, linux on the ftp side
because of the ftp transfer mode, TC converts the line wrap

TC Sync would have to compare by content then to check this - it can't tell from the file dates and sizes.Jervis3008 wrote:the two files are identical excepting the line wrap chars
But Synchronize directories FTP <--> local: Content option is still a missing feature.
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

I could reproduce the error now, thanks! It was a Unicode conversion error, TC couldn't find the file when trying to count the line breaks...
