hmmm... the minus sign is not allowed in the step field, Did you paste such value? I can't get any error starting at 20, end to 0 and step by 3.
No, it is not a problem of an error - it is a problem of understanding:
- A human brain thinks "go from 20 to 10 with step of 3".
- A computer (and a technician) thinks "go from 20 to 10 with step of -3".
- What kind of thinking uses a TC-user?

A message box has the disadvantage that the user has always to click "OK". I think a message in the statusbar is enough.

These are the shorcuts available when XMD is launched in TC mode:
* ENTER: Make folder(s) in current panel.
* SHIFT+ENTER: Make folders in target panel.
* CTRL+ENTER: Make directory an open directory directly.
* CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER: Make directory in opposite panel and open it directly.
Tip: Right mouse button can be configured via xmd.ini file for similar effects.

Ops, You are right. Seems that double quotes around %O is interfering. Like the wrong example that I gave. Sorry.
Instead the old example, try with this parameters: %N /T:"%T" This solve a problem with files and double extension in the name too.
Tip: Only if You are using TC 7.5 RC, then I advise to use these parameter: %Z%N /T:"%T" In this way the tool can be launched even if you are inside a packed file too.

Playing around with the function I have problems with "Working directory".
a) Process keeps open:
If I use "Working directory", the "xmd.exe"-process stays in my task-manager. All the following "F7-commands" do nothing but they increase the number of opened processes. I have to shut-down them with task-manager.
b) Working directory stays "forever":
Of course I forgot to set back my working directory - so XMD did not make sub-folders in my standard folder but in my test-dir ...
b1) Maybe the "working dir" should be reset automatically ?
hmmm.. I can't reproduce the problem here.
The only idea that comes to mind is that the "Start path:" parameter in configuration for button bar or in the extended command is not empty.
Also, try to leave in blank the field "suggested name at startup" in xmd.
