Archivator RAR and WinRAR
In "Configuration"/"Archivators".
Can you replace string "rar.exe" to "winrar.exe"? Dos-version of RAR is exotic now.
Or, for example, directly open directory "%systemroot%/program files/winrar/" if user press ">>" in RAR section.

bbutcher means probably the default string when not any real RAR soft is stated in the Packer page of the Options…

It doesn't matter - neither of them are shipped with TC - it is not illegal to propose a non-freware program in a link.WinRAR is not freeware, whereas rar.exe is, that would not really be possible.

Again…
- I agree that the default string at first use is rather obsolete, but currently TC doesn't look for an eventual RAR¦WinRar
like bbutcher suggests above, so IMHO that string might be quite neuter.
- Also, replacing the ugly [>>] buttons with the magnifying glass pattern and¦or add an info-text when hovering them could help…

• I don't get your point… The [>>] button stands to browse for a RAR¦Winrar already installed in the PC, not to download it…WinRAR is not freeware, whereas rar.exe is, that would not really be possible.

Hello !
{OT}
• I get on your train : I didn't see a free RAR.EXE @ RarLabs (yesterday), the only one is a Pocket version, but no mention telling that it's free…
- I don't hold any Pocket PC, so didn't look further…

Re: Archivator RAR and WinRAR
If you don`t like rar.exe, you can replace it by winrar.exe yourself. And please don`t get mixed up the DOS version of WinRAR (which was dead a long time ago) and the console application rar.exe, which is not "exotic" and is a part of WinRAR distribution.bbutcher wrote:Can you replace string "rar.exe" to "winrar.exe"?
