Sizing columns

Post by *cloggy »

Here's a question....

When I need more space in the name column, I resize the name column.
If I need more space for a date, I change the date column.

BUT.... when I need more space for the filesize.... I need to adjust the "Ext" column.....

Why is this?

You probably have .ext appearing directly after the filename.
If you have .ext "Aligned with Tab" (Config/Tabstops)
Then you can modify both the Filename column and the Ext column separately.
*BLINK* TC9 Added WM_COPYDATA and WM_USER queries for scripting.

No, .ext was in the column.

I changed the setting there, with .ext behind the name, and didn't like it. Then changed it back, and the columns now do work properly..

Something changed.. 8) "Problem" solved..

Will try to reproduce it and send a screenshot..

Thanks for your help.

What seems to have changed:

Before the columns were "right-aligned" so any file size too big to fit in the column would go over to the .ext column. Now, the columns are left-aligned. The access info that doesn't fit in the size-column spills over in the date-column..

Guess it has to spill somewhere..
It's not a problem, especially when you safe the settings. I know now it comes from the alignment of the columns..

Seems there is something wrong with the alignment of the "size"-column.....

This isn't a bug! It's the only way to change both the distance beween Ext and Size, AND between Size and Date/time!

The best solution:
1. format C:
2. install TotalCmd
3. install Windows (optionally)

Please read my reply. It makes no sense to shorten the size or time fields because they are useless when shortened.
