New internal command for moving window separator.

Post by *yeskky »

Currently I can only find cm_50Percent command which place window separator at 50%.
Now I can only use mouse to move window separator.
It would be better to add two commands to increase and decrease current panel size. How about cm_IncreasePanelSize/cm_DecreasePanelSize?
Thanks.

:) Hello !

• Currently we have THIS FEATURE
- You can get 25% steps. Nothing against the commands you wish, but then an INI entry might define the step size (%)…

Agree that pair of commands (like increasing/decreasing left panel width on 10%) won't hurt.

:) Hi !

• Thinking a bit more to that, I would prefer a couple of commands making sense in any case,
I mean no matter which panel has the focus… So, rather something like :
cm_MoveSplitterRight
cm_MoveSplitterLeft
… with a “companion” INI entry like :
MoveSplitterStep=n%
That could be polished up by supporting another unit, i.e. :
MoveSplitterStep=npx.
to set the step as pixels.
• Increase¦Decrease are related to the active panel, that's ambiguous since when one panel width is increased, the other is decreased…
• Just my 0.02 €

Clo,
Good think! Support both commands and INI parameter.

:) Thanks ! I guess that it could be more precise and comfortable, as well with keys or buttons… 8)

2Clo,

How do you bring up the Window-divider local-menu?
chmod a+x /bin/laden -- Allows anyone the permission to execute /bin/laden

How do I un-overwrite all my data?

Boofo, rightclick on the pane-divider invokes the Windows-Divider-Contextmenu.
I believe that there must be at least 7 internal commands for the change of the window-width (in percent).
Please visit the Total Commander Wiki, too :).

safe width of the quickview for every single File-Extension

Post by *Stance »

I want to strongly support the request.

On the picture of the Windows-Divider-Contextmenu we can see that there are no 100%/0% or 0%/100% step-sizes available.
I would like to see a modus for a Single Panel Modus (Explorer-Clone) for the daily use.

Clo's suggestion to use a configurable Ini-setting for the move of the panel-sizer (divider) with a step size in percent or even in pixels is just great !
When I understood correctly, one can move the panelsize with (for example) 10% steps with that.

It is often necessary to change the width of the quickview, because all the different File-extension affording smaller or bigger views.
Here is a suggestion of mine: To safe the width of the quickview for every single File-Extension. I wonder if it could be realised with Clo's suggestion too.

2 Stance & StickyNomad,

Thanks, guys. I thought I had done the right-click there but must have been off a few pixels.

Hello to all,

I think that handle the separator in the mode described by Clo is a very good idea. I strongly support this suggestion too.

Let me to add a new command as suggestion (already posted surely): Not only move the separator to the right or to the left as commented above, also "Expand the active panel" I use this command very often with an external tool and it is very useful (i.e. when I switch between custom columns, for view thumbnails, etc.)
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)
