Now I go to the virtual directory using "cm_opendrives"(others the same,like "cm_opendesktop"...):
1."Ctrl+D" to go to a real directory
------too slow frequently;
2.Press "Enter" on "C:"(or others) drive in the virtual dir
---too slow occasionally.
3.Go to other virtual directory like desktop
------too slow sometimes;
All take several seconds to achieve.
XP Pro SP3
My PC is not good enough but it's not the question.
I think virtual dir is very useful, at least for me. So I wish it better.
Thanks so much!!!
Another suggestion by the way about renaming:
Now I press "Shift+F6" to rename A,B,C...(files in a folder), could I use
the "↓" and "↑" to rename one by one?

Hmm, no problem here - how slow is slow in your case? I'm developing on an old Pentium III with 866 MHz and 512 MB RAM with XP SP3, and the switch is almost immediate from drives to some other directory...

After my "debugging" these days with my laptop, I find that whenever it connected to the Internet(no matter "wireless" or "lan"), TC became slow when changing directories as mentioned above. However, if I plug out the network cable to disconnect it from the Internet, everything is OK.ghisler(Author) wrote:Hmm, no problem here - how slow is slow in your case? It is so strange! I tried to use the ProcessMonitor but I couldn't use it very well.

Now I'm an undergraduate and use the laptop in my domintory and classrooms. So I use the campus network and need a client to connect with the outer net. I think it should be "Lan", also I usually use the "Wireless Lan" and the result(of TC) is the same.ghisler(Author) wrote:How do you connect to the Internet? Via ADSL?

You need to make sure that file and printer sharing isn't connected to the internet interface, otherwise Windows will try to contact computers also this way, which can be very slow.
