something about overlay icon in win7 x64

Post by *myh »

I'm using tortoise svn in win7 x64, and installed both x86 and x64 version of tortoise svn. But i can't see the overlay of svn in TC7.5. But i have another x86 program can running with the overlay icon.
Is there any thing i can do? or TC can improve this feature?

Did you enable overlay icons in configuration - options - icons?

Please also make sure that overlay icons aren't disabled for other programs than the explorer (in the configuration of Tortoise 32 bit).

Have the same problem (Win7 x64).
Icons are enabled in TC and Tortoise SVN.
Win7 x32 with the same settings shows Icons correctly.

Used Tortoise SVN x64 build for x64 bit Windows
Used Tortoise SVN x32 build for x32 bit Windows

http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads

TortoiseSVN-1.6.6.17493-win32-svn-1.6.6.msi
TortoiseSVN-1.6.6.17493-x64-svn-1.6.6.msi

Christian could you test if overlays work for Win7 x64 by yourself?

I haven't checked it yet (lack of time, sorry), but have you checked the configuration of 32-bit Tortoise (via TC right click menu)? Maybe it's configured to show no overlay icons outside of Explorer just in the 32-bit version (the two don't seem to share the configuration).

Did you install Tortoise 32-bit too as instructed above?

Hi,

I have the same problem.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate, x64
I have installed TortoiseSVN in version 1.6.6 Build 17493 (most recent version) for x86 and x64.

TortoiseSVN seems to work fine, because other x86 programs (tested with PhpED, FlashFXP and other programs) shows the overlay icons as expected (they won't show the icons too, if the x86 version of TortoiseSVN is not installed). Just in Total Command (7.50a), the icons are still missing.

That option was off. After turning it on, TC shows all the overlay icons as expected.

Thank you.
