Menu buttons: Allow items without icons

Post by *Lefteous »

I use menu buttons as container for variants of the same command - e.g. sync profiles or clipboard commands. All those menu buttons have a generic icon which lt me instantly find the required button.
Many contained menu items are quite similar. Their caption makes the difference. Unfortunately it's impossible to add an item without icon. It would be great if this would be supported for menu items used in a menu button.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Lefteous,
Unfortunately it's impossible to add an item without icon.
Perhaps you can set the field "icon file" to * for example. In this way the icons are not shown in the popup menu.
Although I guess that you are refering to eliminate the blank space that appear before the descrition (defined by the parameter "PopupIconSize") in a determinate menu (not for all menus). Is that?
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)

Perhaps customization of the "IconSize" field, like TCMenu.exe allows for.
A size of 0 would display no Icons. And sizes less than the main-menu icon would allow for more drop down menu-like behaviour (i.e. size 16).

The incompleteness of the internal button bar implementation leaves me still using TCMenu:
* Gradient Menus (a nice touch)
* Default Items (settable by Ctrl+Click)
* Show full menu (always with Shift+Click)
* Ability to specify exact iconsize for menu.

Where the internal implementation trumps TCMenu:
* RightClick + Edit linked button bar.
* Adds a small overlay arrow to indicate a menu.
* No limit to how many files can be passed in a Selection (%S)

Thanks - that's a good workaround.
