ftp behind firewall
Total commander is the only ftp client can get through our company's firewall, it worked fine for me in the past. However, something changed on our proxy and ftp doesn't work as it should be. The problem is that Total Commander can no longer tell directory from file, and list all directories as files.
Here is the properties:

I tried to solve this by defining new server type, but I have no idea how can I define a server type for these:

>lpf.README/</a> 1k Feb 24 22:09 lpf.README

Thanks.

Possibly, now you have your new proxy configured as "Use Automatic Proxy Configuration" and now you only specify a http address. That happened in our company and of course TC does not support that. However, in our company we can access every FTP site without specifying any proxy server. Maybe you should try without the proxy server.

This looks quite bad - please ask your admins to restore the previous listing style. btw, what proxy type is this?

In my case, in Internet Explorer, in Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab -> LAN Settings, in the Automatic configuration box, we have to check the "Use automatic configuration script" and in the address box we write the http address i.e. http://aaaa.bbbbb.cccc.com .
Previously we specified a regular proxy address in the "proxy server" below, and we used that same address in TC's proxy settings.
Fortunately, now we no longer require to use a proxy address for FTP communication, at least for the time being or until they realize that that particular port is open. However, it would be very useful for TC to support the "Use automatic configuration script" option since I have seen it being used in several companies more and more.

The problem with this automatic configuration script is that it only informs about a HTTP proxy, which is very limited for ftp transfers. It should really only be used if a true FTP proxy isn't available.

Btw, you can press the URL button in TC and enter this URL, and TC will download the script for you. You can then have a look at the script to find our what HTTP proxy is suggested.

Christian,
Forgive for asking this, however, I don't quite follow what you said:
If you meant the URL for proxy then TC says "connect call failed".
Thanks,
Yu
