ChoiceEditor 1.95c_patched

Post by *icfu »

http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/ChoiceEditor_patched.html

The original ChoiceEditor.exe (renamed to ChoiceEditor.exe.orig) includes some
hardcoded accelerator shortcuts which make it impossible to use A, O and U as
standard hotkeys throughout the program.

In this patched version this annoyance has been fixed by stripping the & from
the following strings:

Button: &other program...
Checkbox: &Use as additional
Checkbox: &Always use this program to open this filetype

Also the Button O&K has been changed to &OK.

All credits go to mozers for coding ChoiceEditor and for giving his OK to
release this patched version!

Have fun! :)

Thanks, I'm still using this excellent program! Now it became even better. What a pity that the source has been lost...
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

ChoiceEditor accelerator keys on Vista

Post by *Robert Bull »

I'm using ChoiceEditor 1.95c patched, in TC 7.50a, under Vista Home Premium. I can't get accelerator keys to work. That is, if I put an entry in ChoiceEditor.ini:

DisplayName7=&Sumatra PDF
Editor7=c:\NoInst\SumatraPDF\SumatraPDF.exe
Ext7=PDF

ChoiceEditor comes up with the "S" of Sumatra highlighted, but if I press S to launch it, I get an error message:

---
ChoiceEditor

Run-time error '70':
Permission denied
---

If I just move the cursor up and down with arrow keys and launch that way, everything is OK. Also, ChoiceEditor seems much slower on Vista than it was in XP, but I suppose that's Microsoft's definition of progress :(

Great pity the source is gone of this indeed excellent program.
I didn't know about those shortcuts though, and the addition of 'Button' or 'Checkbox'..
