Sometimes I want to indentify the differences between two directories structures and I want to keep the left newest, for example, and I want copy them into another location, if the destination drive have not enough space for sync.
It would be nice to have posibility to save file list, with all path, for future use in branch view - load selection from file - copy.
Now, with select and copy, the list can not be used simple for loading selection.
This list (files and/or dirs), can be use instead of file including [*.*] or file excluding [ | ] list in synchonize tool.

Hi eugensyl,
please look at the following topics:
Synchronize Dirs: Copy Selected Names to Clipboard
Repeat & Refresh Search Result / Load a Search result
I think that my proposal is that what you want.

Something like that.Brat.Hering wrote:Hi eugensyl,

Maybe, the options can be:
1) Save left selected list of files (into clipboard/file)
2) Save right selected list of files (into clipboard/file)
User must estblish the right combimation of switches (show left, show right, show equal, show not equal) after than select all (Ctrl+A) and one of two previous proposed commands.

Save sync selections in DiskDir LST format
The selection information could be exported to a file, with the format used by the DiskDir plugin, and with the extension LST. If you double-click on an LST file, TC will display the contents as a virtual directory, with file names, sizes, dates, and times. TC allows further synchronizing selections using these virtual directories. If the original paths\files still are available, TC can synchronize or display (F3) the actual files, as though they were within the LST file(s). The DiskDir LST format may provide the easiest way to get flexibility in later use of the selections, which are likely to include multiple directories.
The option to save selections might fit well in the dialog box that pops up when you click on the Synchronize button. The user could ask to export the list of files selected for copying or for deletion, in the left or right panel.
Thanks for considering this possibility.
A similar thread is [REQ] Copy paths of sync results.

Good idea with two points:Ralph wrote:The selection information could be exported to a file, with the format used by the DiskDir plugin, and with the extension LST.

1) The list must have options left or right
2) Extension can be re-defined as you want.
Now you can do
Ctrl-A -> Ctrl+C -> Excel -> Ctrl+V
for a tab delimited list where you can add optionally a filter.
But this list isn't usable by TC directly.
