Display of double parent-dir with Twinkey

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Display of double parent-dir with Twinkey

Post by *Peter »

(IMHO this is not a bug of TC but of Twinkey, but I will describe it here for other users).

I used
- TC 7.50a
- with plugin Twinkey
- Branch-view with 1200 files and 40 folders
- user-defined columns (owner and changing-date)

Problem:(??)
The symbol for "parent-dir" (gray arrow and two points ..) are displayed twice. One times at the top of the file panel and second time at line 32. It is reproducable. After disabling Twinkey it works fine.

I can't reproduce it. Can you post a screenshot? My settings are exactly as yours (except that I have 1181 file in 125 dirs ;))

Picture seems to be damaged though the file is present. Please verify. Can you understand it yourself?

I can open it via imageshack. The picture is edited by me, but the main problem - the double-parent-folder - is visible.

Oh, I've never seen pictures with file names totally hidden ;)
Well, I still can't reach the same effect. Wait for the author's reply. In the nearest future the new version should be released. I also have some problems with TWinKey (other than yours).

Peter wants to say that TWinKey shows two ".." items in branch view - and both are visible on screenshot.

Yes, I've understood it already. It seems that even the file names are so top secret that need to be hidden

Indeed it looks like an error of TWinkey, TC doesn't remove any duplicates returned by plugins...

1. What TWinKey version you use? Last available version is 2.101.
2. Is it happens in every directory or in the some specific one? Can you send me list of all file names in this directory?
3. Is it happens in the Full view?

It happend only once and I don't know the directory or the filenames. But I think it happened with "Full view" (Ctrl+F2)

Excuse me, but in your first post you wrote
- user-defined columns (owner and changing-date)
It is reproducable.
:?:

Anyway, can you check latest TWinKey version?

Sorry - my fault. It is reproducable. I tried it with the old versioon again.

a)
- Activate the plugin.
- Use Ctrl-B in a structure like above (many files, many dirs)
- Use "Page down" twice or three times
- Use "Page up" and go to top
- You will see the ".. sign" on line 32.
- Press "Strg-F3" to change the sorting: The new sorting does not begin at top but on line 32 - 31 lines above the ".. sign" have to be scrolled.

b)
- Deactivate the plugin.
- Use Ctrl-B
- Activate the plugin.
- a ".. sign" will appear on line 32.

Play around in some combinations - maybe you will get it.

Now I get trying the new version.

BTW: Please provide a download link at top of the main thread (or open a new one). On http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=22950 are links to old versions ...
