More Operations In Packed Files?

Post by *dsscicin »

Could you add more operations in packed files? Eg "rename & multi-rename", "thumbnail" and so on.(not only in *.zip but also *.rar;*.7z;and more.) So archieves are really like directories. Be hunger for it. Thanks a lot.

Thumbs in solid archives may be too slow. E.g. to extract last file in solid archive archiver should extract all archive files. Also for some kind of archives it is necessary to repack whole archive if some operations perform.

If its too slow I will not use it for big archives then.
But currently I manually unpack the content to see the thumbs on the other side...

Now the "Thumbnail View" mode could be used in solid archives but there are no thumbs at all. In normal folder the "thumbnail view" speed is a little slow when large pictures.
Indeed, it will be very slow when thumbs in solid archive, but maybe only the first time will be and we could accept its slowness. Even if we couldn't stand its slowness, we just use the normal view mode and everything will be ok.
Looking forward to:
+rename/multi-rename in *.zip/rar/7z/...: considering an archive I just download but I don't like the naming convention in it, and many times we could use it.
+thumbnail : It's very very useful when reading comics (photos)...
Recently some people around me give up TC little by little as a result of "Directory Opus"(another file manager, although it's too expensive), so I suggest more frequently for a more powful TC.
