icons on Tabs
Hi all,
It would be very nice to have a little (distinct) icon on every tab, instead of folder name. So, width of tabs are small and more tabs can be added in the window.
Best regards
JOAQUIN

Needs too...

1 -That'ld need too to get an info-text ("balloon") for all tabs. Actually, only inactive tabs have this.
2 - Every user might draw his (her) own collection of pics - names of folders are infinite -, with regard to the languages too -.
3 - The necessary support in the EXE might add fat to it... if it's possible!
Your can actually configure the Tabs with several ranks, if you have a lot.

Hi,
What icons would you like to have there? Do you have any?It would be very nice to have a little (distinct) icon on every tab, instead of folder name.
Clo,
All tabs do show the hint with their full path...ld need too to get an info-text ("balloon") for all tabs. Actually, only inactive tabs have this.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Tooltips showing the complete path are available for inactive tabs only. From my point of view it's not necessary to show a tooltip for the current tab - this information is already provided by the "current directory" field.Hacker wrote:All tabs do show the hint with their full path...
Right!

You're right! In addition of the current-dir title, we can too edit the path with the "Edit path field" (command #2912)
Use icons here (small, hence not very easy to draw, so not very nice) might be a pretty mess...
If the text-lengh is not limited by the appropriate option, a tab adjusts automatically its lenght like the text lengh; its a Delphi feature, I think.
However, to save space allowing more tabs on the same rank, a tooltip for the active tab could be useful (the tooltip is not limited to n... characters)...
I mean for very long names / paths which overflow the pannel title-bar.

Yes, sorry, the tooltip for the current tab is only shown when "Show current dir" is deactivated.Tooltips showing the complete path are available for inactive tabs only. Jqn,
I simply want to say that I doubt many users would draw their own icons for every dir they have in a Tab. BTW: You can simply rename that Tab...I have a tab nemed "POP3-SMTP Connections", it is a very long text, (a third of my right window), I would like to replace it by a small icon of a mailbox, and so on..

Well, not for ALL (or every) folder in my PC, but for some folder very used (like files source or project folders).
Other folders can appear with its name.
I think on a little "TCfolder.ico" file into the folder. If exists it show in the Tab, otherwise the folder name appears in the Tab.

Please, notice that I'm not quite against your idea... But to get icons on "some" tabs, you must have provisions in the program to do this for anyone, so: all tabs! That needs a big dialog (complex too) to assign a pic
at each folder + the corresponding tooltip...
This must be saved in an appropriate file, having an advanced structure (better than a classic *.ini file...)
For all, something like ??? 100 KB ??? Without the icons thelselves...
CH. Ghisler is certainly a great expert at programming, and knows to make that, but maybe he prefers to keep the program "light"... ?
{Note: What a coffee! I smell it from my home: only 700 km
