Which plugin do you use for accessing gmail account? In your opinion which is best for checking mail.

To be honest, i did not know about TC plugins to check e-mail. And I think a filemanager is not the best program to check e-mail.
I use POP Peeper for quick scanning 24 e-mail accounts (including 1 gmail account).

No TC mail plugin is suitable fo daily use. I use Mozilla Thunderbird.
But as a good solution to check emails at other computers (friends, parents,..) I use a portable TC on USB stick and Mail.wfx (D1P)

I am no longer using my gmail-account since 1 year ago. Don't want to give all my mails and contacts to datacollector google

Just tried to access my old google-account with mail_wfx, but I got trouble with ssl-libraries. Don't know whats wrong here. I have same configuration than 1 year before, but newer ssl-libraries. Maybe that's the problem. I checked and followed all steps described in readme-file, but can't get it to work again.

Update: Just looked into my plugin archive and found my old ssl-libraries. These libraries was really working before. Now mail_wfx fails to load ssl. It seems to be a problem with newer TC versions.
(tested on windows 7 and windows xp sp3)

Same problem here. I also used new SSL for SFTP plugin and I couldn't access mine gmail account (fail to load SSL). I tried like you with original mail_wfx libraries but then I just couldn't conect. I'm not sure is it problem with TC or google change something in way to access gmail gmail. I also tried contact D1P but I had no luck.

I used to - but can no longer connect with TC 7.55b3 and original ssl libraries.

I guess gamil changed something so plugin can't access account. It is pitty that author stoped developing this great plugin wich have huge potencial. Especially when plugin was in final stage of development

Who knows, maybe some day D1P will pick up his work
