Would it be possible to "remember" the descend path involving links
just "as is", without expanding them, so that when one goes into
"Documents and Settings" on drive "C:", the current path for the panel
would not be changed to "C:\Users" but to remain "C:\Documents and
Settings" (Vista/7). Hence, "Up" [..] will work up the path using
the followed directory elements as they were traveled down by the
user (so when you went "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Send To", going "Up" from that place brings you back to "C:\Users\<YourUserName>", not to "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\",
which would then require you to travel all the way up to get to "C:\Users\<YourUserName>"). The method of following paths can
be made selectable from the "Configuration" menu.
Thanks for considering this.
"Down" not to "expand" links

This was discussed some times. Users folder contains both symlinks and junctions, and some of them have no permissions. Explorer fails to enter such "folders", but TC allows to enter junctions w/o read permissions by getting junction target and changind current folder to it. For normal symlinks and junctions TC just 'enters' it, not its target.
So the only option that may be here - is not to follow restricted junction's target.
BTW you may go back using Alt+Left.
