More statistical information in Background Transfer Manager

Post by *X-Byte »

I would like to suggest an additional line above the progress indicator for speed statistics in the Background Transfer Manager.

Currently speed informations are only displayed occassinally for larger files which take some seconds to copy. Also, the speed is displayed in front of the filename, shifting the filename to the right.

Suggestion for the separate speed line
Current (file): xx KB/s | Average (so far...): xx KB/s | Max: xx KB/s

hmm, for me there is no shifting of the filename to the right. If the filename is displayed, the speed information is gone and vice versa.

But I vote for your suggestion: Both information should be displayed. With filename i mean the name of a single file not the folder name (in cases you added a folder to the queue). Folders can be really large. In such cases users should have a feedback on the copy/move operation progress. The name of the current file would be helpful.

Another point is that at the moment the progress bar only shows progress for a single file. If the BTM is currently copying a folder I always think that the progress bar shows the progress for the whole folder because there is no filename displayed but the folder name shown in the window title. Displaying the filename would resolve this misunderstanding.
