Network share name and space: wrong in 7.55(a), OK in 7.50a

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Network share name and space: wrong in 7.55(a), OK in 7.50a

Post by *PolpoPaul »

There seems to be a problem with network share name and free disk space in both TC 7.55 and TC 7.55a. It's OK with TC 7.50a. I'm using XP+SP3.

I have a shared directory on the disk attached to my WD TV Live. The name of the share is \\Wdtvlive\LaCieNTFS and it's shown OK in TC 7.50a:
"[lacientfs] 15 134 656 k of 39 118 240 k free" is displayed at the right of the drive combobox.

In TC 7.55 only the share name is shown: [lacientfs] with no report of the free disk space at the right.

In TC 7.55a the share name is wrong either: [_none_] is the only info that is displayed.

This is a new feature of TC 7.55: If Windows takes too long to return the label and/or the free space, TC will stop waiting and show just what it has received until then. This was added because according to our analysis of Windows crash reports, many people killed TC when it was waiting for such slow drives.

Personally, I'd very much prefer a Configuration Option to set.
