Synchronize Directories - Files/folders listed in wrong side
Before starting to synchronize, left and right pane can be seen here. Note that folders driver and settings are on the right pane.

After compare, the only differing folders are empy folders driver and settings which should be on the right pane

Directory names are always on the left side.
If you want to keep the directory a click on [x] cycles through [_] and [<].
The last one [<] indicates on which side the directories exists (on the right side).
Does it matter in asymmetric mode where (left or right) the [x] empty directory will be deleted?

Well, because in asymmetric mode everything that is to be deleted is deleted from the right pane, it would be logical that they are displayed on the right.HolgerK wrote:Directory names are always on the left side.

I see no reason why foldernames would be treated different from filenames.
Just a guess:I see no reason why foldernames would be treated different from filenames.
Because the horizontal space may be insufficient to show the path on the right side.

In that case, why don't long filenames appear on the left side, too?HolgerK wrote:Just a guess:I see no reason why foldernames would be treated different from filenames.

You know that a path name is usually longer than a file name?
Because the maximum length of a file name is 255 characters while a path can be 32700 characters long
MSDN:File System Functionality Comparison:Limits
Btw: TC supports path lengths up to 1022 characters.

Anyone, who does not have to guess?HolgerK wrote:Just a guess:I see no reason why foldernames would be treated different from filenames.

Yes, it's by design, so long path names can be shown too.

Nevertheless, it can be quite misleading to have directories displayed on the left pane.ghisler(Author) wrote:Yes, it's by design, so long path names can be shown too.
Especially in case of symmetric mode, if a 'unpaired' folder exists on the right side and is displayed on the left !
Wouldn't it be possible to display the full length of pathname in a tooltip, just like long pathnames in TC main window, and keep on the correct panes?
