Actually this isn't a bug, it's just how the compare function works: It doesn't highlight differences at fixed positions like in binary mode, but finds inserted and deleted characters. So in the first line on the right, the "4" seems to be inserted. Therefore one "0" is too much on the left side at the end of that 0 sequence.
