Total Commander v7.5-7.55 freezes often with 64-bit Windows

Total Commander v7.5-7.55 would and will almost every time freeze on 64-bit Windows Vista or Seven alike. It happens just because one clicks on folders or files just to open or rename them. Whatever I try working with the TCs it behaves just from the beginning good then after some time will slow down, often to complete stop the CPU power being consumed up to 100%. If one goes over to another application(s) it takes some time for the TCs to return to its normal functional state, or it should be closed and restarted again to revive its functionality. I have also tried a 64-bit SpeedCommander v13.20.6100 and all goes smoothly. I can easily adopt a SpeedCommander but TC is the best from my experience it would be really pity. Please help.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this problem here. Can you try to find out with the tools from www.sysinternals.com (process explorer, process monitor) what is going on?

I've just made a discovery about the freezing. It never freezes if the mouse pointer is not on the TC window and never freezes if I operate the TC with keys only. Only if the mouse pointer cliks folder, files or just goes over the TC area it freezes and needs to be restarted again to cope with the problem just for a short time relief relapsing very soon again into the freezing... I use the Aero mode. So today as is usual my TC began to freeze and I decided then to switch off the Aero mode but the TC was kept working and the problem persisted. Then I closed the TC down and started it again and magically there was no freezing at all! I then switched over to the Aero mode again and saw yet no freezing - whichever I did with the mouse pointer over the TC window! Well, the old problem started when I closed down and started the TC being in the Aero mode. This experience gives an indea that TC is somehow incongruent with the Areal of 64-bit Vista and Seven. Thanks
