Remember last search results for current directory

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Remember last search results for current directory

Post by *SailorMax »

thank you for this new feature, but why it show previous results if open search-dialog from another directory?
Sample steps:
1. open directory "D:\totalcmd\"
2. open search-dialog and start search "*.exe"
3. choose "TOTALCMD.exe" and press enter
4. go to parent directory (D:\)
5. open search-dialog

I expect to see one of:
- empty result, because now we in different directory
- previous search result with all parameters

What we have now:
- "Search for" = *.exe
- "Search result" = previous result
- but "Search in" = current directory (D:\)... But result from D:\totalcmd\ !

It simply shows the last results, independent from where you are. Reason: If you find files in subdirs and then go to one of these files, you would no longer be in the base dir. So when you want to go to some other file, the result list would be lost.

This would be very annoying for users who want to perform a new search in a different directory.

I think listbox title may show last search template and path. I.e. not just 'Search results:' but 'Search results (*.txt in C:\Windows):' or at least 'Search results (previous search):'
