new useful option for the copy files dialog box

Post by *kenner »

hi
i'm working with many (graphic) files very often and i always had this 'incovenient' when copying let's say 500 files to a new location which already contains another 500 files. now some of these have the same name but different size. so they have different content.
so i think it would be really useful to have an extra option in the copy dialog like "auto-rename only files with different size and overwrite/skip the others"
can that be done? i'm sure many of us had this issue in their experience with total commander.
thank you!

But what if target folder has file with same size but different contents? Maybe you should use sync tool and compare folders by contents?

not impossible but very little chance for that to happen. especially in my case.
and we're talking about a large number of files, maybe thousands... so compare by content doesn't really help me here.
