Change Directory by Drag&Drop(Drag it from Explorer into

Post by *LindaReinhard »

What about to make the TC to change into the directory when I drag some Directory (or File) from the Windows Explorer and drop it into the caption(where the current Directory is shown) of some TC-Panel.

At the moment the mouse icon just shows that I can't drop it there.

My support for this request! :)

In addition, when a directory is dragged into the TAB-Bar of Total Commander, a new Folder-tab is created there (but without changing the active directory path/focus).

Furthermore, create new tabs in TC for Zip or other compressed files in this manner.

You may add context menu item to open in TC selected in Explorer folder, maybe even in separate tab. :)

I dont want to capture this thread, as the topic is: Change directory by drag and drop from explorer to...(?)
...but on the other hand you are complaining it could be solved with 3 lines of code. :P

While I am thinking, this could be the first step into full compatibility with the OS.
The second step could be the suggested drag&drop-able foldertabs.

I want to give a better example:
Let's say you have TWO running instances of TC (that makes 4 panels) but no desktop or explorer.
Now you can drag one foldertab from the first TC to the second. To the filepanel or tab-bar.

When you drag a folder-tab from TC to desktop or explorer, it will either work.
In the example with the contextmenu that wouldn't be possible.
