Access Violation error in TC6.01

Post by *Premium »

Since version 6 I receive sometimes an Access Violation error when pressing F3. Example:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~fnieuwen/ERROR.gif

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce at command. I wanted to view the Symantec NetDetect.job file. Anyone an idea what is going wrong?

Do you have any Lister plugins installed?

This problem seems to be related to the new tab feature. I'm currently investigating and will release a new version when I find the reason.

:? I sometimes get this, too - and the really weird thing is, I can never get it to repeat the error. I've noticed that it has happened several times when I tried to view files in RAR archives with lister, but apart from that it happens absolutely unmotivated sometimes.

I do, however, use quite a few plugins so some of the errors might be related to those. And I use tabs a lot.

Lister-plugins installed: DSView, FlashView, Font, HPG_ed, ICLView, ImageLister, Imagine, LinkInfo, pdfview.
FS-plugins: cpl, NetMon, PROCFS, Services, TConsole, wincefs, NetworkAlt.
Packer-plugins: msi-plus, d64, iso, TreeCopy, HA, CatalogMaker, bzip2.
I've had to remove the FS CAB-plugin as it seems it causes a lot of grief with 7zipped sfx-archives (ctrl-pgdn).
So, some of my probs may be related to one or more of these mixed official and unofficial plugins. And it really doesn't happen that often - once a week or something like that. Is there some debugging feature that can be turned on to catch these errors? Or anyone know of conflicts? Thx.

:D Hello!
:? Don't uninstall any plugin, for this problem it's really TC which is guilty!
Please, watch this:

*The same error-address! Loading a tab-file (twice)
* Another user had this too - same address - other handling...
:( We have just to wait for a next version where this error'll be fixed up!
 Kind regards,
Clo
