Hi,
I'm using this site for the first time and hope I'm doing right. Since every board uses different ways to get along (here for the first time I saw that it is necessary to differ between Upper-/Lower-case letters by registering - never seen this before! It's of course no prob but it took me several wasted tries to register 'til I found out …) it's nowadays not easy and the reaction of some people is far below my worst imagination.
I saw in the Wiki that it is possible to make suggestions and I hope the one I have is not only for my sake but that there are more users which want it. What I'm talking about? Something like "Anti-Twin".
Up to now it's possible to compare 2 files, but since I've tried and am still using the above mentioned App I wont miss it anymore. I'm an info-junkie and many times it is quite faster to download a whole bunch of files and later compare those with the files I already have (sometimes there even is no other way since the books are ZIPed collections and appear in different sets so that I must download many books that I already have to get the one that I want). In this case I'm talking mainly about books, but same thing happens to people who collect pictures, music etc.
So what I'd like to see is some plugin (maybe?) that helps me to find double files in a fast way.
How about that?

P.S.: is English preferred on this board or is it ok to write in German?
Suggestion: kinda "Anti-Twin"
Moderators: Hacker, petermad, Stefan2, white
Hmmh, isn't:
just what you want?
Regards
Holger
PS: I guess it's okay to write German in the German forum.
Code: Select all
Commands -> Search... Alt+F7
Tab "Advanced"
...
[x] Find duplicates files:
[_] same name [x] same size [x] same contents

das müsste so sein. Prob: ich arbeite bisher mit einem anderen DateiManager und bin mit ihm seit über 10 Jahren zufrieden, weil auch er auf allen Systemen läuft.HolgerK wrote:Hmmh, isn't:just what you want?Code: Select all

Doch dann entdeckte ich TC - und der bietet so ziemlich das gleiche, bis auf die Oberfläche, die mir zu DOSlike war; aber das hat sich wohl auch inzwischen geändert.
Und das mit [x] Find duplicates files macht evt. das berühmte Tüpfelchen auf dem i aus :-}

By the way: sorry für die Verspätung, aber nicht nur meine Systeme waren zusammengebroch, sodass ich jetzt bei W7 bin, auch mein Körper stand kurz vor dem TotlAbsturz - wäre es eine Woche später entdeckt worden, würdest Du diese Antwort nie erhalten haben

MustJee, I think that HolgerK was talking about writing in German in Total Commander (Deutsch) subforum but not in TC7.56a suggestions (English) subforum of this board.

Sorry for that, really.MVV wrote:MustJee, I think that HolgerK was talking about writing in German in Total Commander (Deutsch) subforum but not in TC7.56a suggestions (English) subforum of this board.
I'm just getting confused about all the many boards I'm visiting/using since all of them differ.
It's bommer that there is not a quasi-standard.
But, of course, that doesn't make it better since I was actually on the wrong board - I can see it now at the top.
Thanx for letting me know.
