QuickView in "same" panel

Post by *JohnFredC »

I have recently been exposed (in a competitor product) to the utility of displaying the QuickView panel inside the selected file's parent panel (as opposed to replacing the opposite file panel as TC does it). Such an implementation allows for 2 QV panels simultaneously, and avoids having to "hide" the "other" file panel in order to display the QV.

IMO, an option to display the QuickView in a subpanel of the file's parent file list would be a welcome revision to the TC interface.

Mmmh, selecting a file and show the QV in the same panel inhibits to select another file for viewing.
Not quick at all ...

Just press F3 key to view without hiding any panel.

No no no... not to replace the panel, but as a subpanel with a splitter!

Or the independent lister panel, but dynamic reference to the selected file ...

Sometime I need this feature too:
- I need a source- and a target-panel to handle the files (example: move)
- I need a lister-panel to quick-view which file I selected and to decide if to move them or not.

You still may use F5/F6 even if target panel has QV. :)

Yes, I know, but I want to see which files are in which panel. With opened QV I see nothing of the target.
