I don't assigned a hotkey to cm_showquicksearch, I'm using Letters with search dialog. Pressing a hotkey to navigate in the current directory is complicated from my point of view.
I press the right arrow key if want to enter use the command line.

As posted in another thread: Alt + "printable character" can lead to a conflict with menu accelerators.

I use this mode too - it has a lot of advantages. As for me cm_showquicksearch is rather for fun than for every day work (and it's interacts with X-Mouse in not very good way). But all this doesn't prevented me from assigning shortcut for it - today it's new for me, but maybe tomorrow I'll appreciate it :).[/face]

Well, as you know I made my menu myself as well as assigned accelerators. So no conflicts exist in my case.[/face]

In case of conflict Alt+Key being a shortcut and menu accelerator, you can access menu by:
pressing Alt, releasing Alt, Pressing Accelerator Key,
e.g press and release Alt then press F to access menu "File"
It is still quick.
