The file size field is currently left aligned to the thousand separator between the 6th and 7th figur.
It would be easier readable for large files if the field was right aligned.

Actually it's right-aligned, but the position is controlled by the left separator. This way you can control the width of the left margin with the left separator, and the width of the right margin with the right separator.

Maybe you are right...
But it feels strange when I want to see the filesize of a big file, then I have to make the width of the "Ext" field wider.
If you compare to a spreadsheet like excel, if you have to read a big number (or long text) then you have to make that column wider, not the column to the left of the field.
I am used to spreadsheet, and there you have center/right/left alignment, and you control the width of the cell or column to be abel to see the whole txt.
