[8.0b1] Version Property

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[8.0b1] Version Property

Post by *kfft »

The version field in totalcmd.exe is 8.0 (both Product Version and File Version) and does not indicate the beta status

Would it be possible to set any of the property field to "8.0 beta 1" or something like this to make the recognition of the version and the automatic update easier?

Thanks

Confirmed for the 32-bit version.
totalcmd.exe (32-bit) has FileVersion: 8.0.0.0
TOTALCMD64.EXE (64-bit) has FileVersion: 8.0.0.1, which already indicates the beta by minor version.

thanks for confirming - the various denominations

"8.0 public beta 1" in the history.txt
8.0.0.0 in the 32bits
8.0.0.1 in the 64bits
"8.0 beta 1" on the site
"8.0ß1" in the application

makes it particularly difficult to properly identify and update automatically when there will be a beta2

Sorry, I always forget to change these, so I prefer to leave them as 8.0.0.0.
