Re: Return to last folder accesses when using <-Back or A

Post by *karlchen »

Hello, alphonse68.
When going into a folder and coming back out using the button "<- Back" or keys "Alt+LeftArrow", it would be really nice if the cursor would return to that last folder entered;
Sorry, I don't see the problem. T.C. does exactly what you request already provided you use the backspace key. :?
(Backspace is not quite the same as Alt-left, cf. the keyboard.txt file in the T.C. programme folder for details.)
could comparing directories/folders (Shift+F2) include choosing how to compare them?
Again, this is feasible already. You launch "Synchronize Directories". You define your compare settings. Next you click the tiny yellow folder icon in the upper left-hand corner of the "Synchronize Directories" dialogue and select "Add current directories and settings to list". Next type in a meaningful name for the compare settings.
Later on you can use the saved settings by launching "Synchronize Directories", clicking the tiny yellow folder icon in the upper left-hand corner of the "Synchronize Directories" dialogue and selecting the appropriate saved setting from the list.

HTH,
Karl

Here using the Backspace key does exactly what you are asking for (whereas Alt+LeftArrow doesn't).

So I don't understand that request.

When you're using Alt+Left/Right, TC doesn't restore cursor position, it puts cursor onto ".." item always.

alphonse68 suggests to remember last used cursor position for every history item. It is not so much since TC remembers just up to 20 items in memory for each panel. It doesn't require INI modifications, just additional pair of arrays in memory.

And, Backspace and Alt+Left do absolutely different things. Sometimes first one is much more useful, but sometimes the other one works better. Dumb M$ people missed that when they changed Backspace to 'history back' in Windows 7 Explorer. :evil:
