[32/64] Select name only bug

Post by *MVV »

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select file with spaces in name
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+F5
3. Press F5 some times

What TC does:
x64: selects whole name with quotes ONLY, doesn't allow to switch to select name only
x32: selects name with opening quote or selects name+ext with opening quote

What TC should do:
Both TC versions should select only filename w/o quotes or filename+ext w/o quotes if name is quoted.

cm_PackFiles is usually assigned to Ctrl+Alt+F5 to pack into the same dir (not to the opposite panel).

Sir_SiLvA, just select ANY file, press F5 or Alt+F5, enter zip:"My New Archive.zip" or just "My New File.bin" in edit field (WITH QUOTES) and play with F5. :) TC will select wrong name parts as I described in first post.

Sorry, this has never been tested in the pack function. I will either have to find a solution, or disable the function in the pack dialog.

And that decides WHO? Its not a DEFAULT Shortcut so the OP should have mention wich function he is talking about dont you think?
(IE Myself use CTRL+Alt for the Starter Menu - Default Shortcuts can be found in the file called Keys.txt coming with TC)

Thanks alot MVV for clearing that up - confirmed for Beta 3 in TC 32Bit.

Christian, it works incorrectly even in usual copy/move dialog. Enter "My New File.bin" into edit field and press F5 few times as I wrote above.

Sir_SiLvA, this shortcut is specially processed by TC.

Apart from the fact that you normaly dont get " there when you operate files with space in the name (SHIFT+F5) I confirm that for beta 3

All issues with file/path selection seem to be fixed in 8.0β4. Both in x32 and x64 versions repeated F5 selects path parts in correct order, and does not include quotes if only part of the path is selected.
