[8.0ß1] Lister(x64) - Center Images doesnt work correctly

Post by *Biozynotiker »

Lister (x64) - The Option "center images" was ignored on startup,
if the image is bigger than the screen resolution.
The image is viewed left out of the screen instead.

Changing the "center images" option while viewing an image,
the image is shown correctly.

This bug is not complete fixed in 8.0b2.
The image was still not centered by viewing some images.

After some research i get following result:
- My screen resolution is 1680x1050
- Viewing small images like 640x400 is centered
- Viewing bigger images that would fit in 1680x1050 is not centered
- Viewing very big images that produce scrollbars, is centered

Edit: A bit further research:
- The images that were not centered at startup, could not be centered later by pressing the "c" shortcut, maybe this helps.

Indeed I tried only with images larger than the lister window. I can confirm the problem with images which just about fit in the window. Thanks for your report.

Hello, Christian.

Provided the issue with images that are almost the same size as the lister window is this:
  • Lister has been configured to "center images".
  • You select an image file which is almost as large as the saved lister window sizeand press <F3> to load it in lister.
  • The internal lister of Total Commander 8.0 beta2 64-bit will center the image horizontally, but not vertically. The image will always cling to the menu bar.
  • The internal lister of Total Commander 8.0 beta3 will center the image horizontally as well as vertically. So the image will be located in the middle of the lister window.
  • Addendum:
The first image was not close enough to the lister window size.
If I use an image which is really close to the lister window size then
  • the internal lister of Total Commander 8.0 beta2 64-bit will not center the image at all, but it will cling to the left and the upper edges of the window.
  • the internal lister of Total Commander 8.0 beta3 will center the image horizontally as well as vertically. So the image will be located in the middle of the lister window.
If this is the reported issue, then I can confirm that it has been solved in Total Commander 8.0 beta3 64-bit.

Total Commander 8.0 beta3 64-bit
Total Commander 8.0 beta2 64-bit
No active lister plugins present in either of the two
Server 2008 R2

Cheers,
Karl

Seems to be fixed. I can not reproduce the center problem anymore.

But now, you can sometimes "scroll" centered images a few pixel (~5px) with cursor keys, that fit on screen and produce no scrollbars.
This "scrolled" images jumps back to the centered position, after you release the press cursor keys.
I would not to call this a "bug", but its a strange behavior.

Thanks for confirming the fix! I cannot reproduce the scroll problem yet, but I will keep trying.
