[x64] b3 Cursor Disappears over Breadcrumb Bar

Post by *romulous »

A change from 7.56a - not 100% sure if it is a bug or not, but posted here just in case (I'm sure someone will tell me if it is a design change). When you move the mouse over the breadcrumb bar, the cursor disappears, making it impossible to tell what part of the bar your mouse is on.

"Auto-open when moving mouse over it" is disabled, though it behaves the same if it is enabled.

Confirm this bug on x64 version, win7 pro - it was not present in tcmd 8 beta 1 - quite annoying...

Unfortunately I can't confirm it - I just tried with a fresh wincmd.ini. I can reproduce the "forbidden" cursor after one directory change, but I'm always getting a cursor in the breadcrumb bar.

Where exactly don't you get a cursor?
- in the bar itself
- in the dropped down list of folders
- on the button used to open the dropped down list?

I've just noticed that it doesn't always happen (for example, I've just started TC now and it is working ok right at the moment), but when it does happen, it happens here:

(Any time the mouse crosses into the area bounded by the red rectangle, the cursor disappears)

Yep, video shows it pretty well. I didn't see the forbidden cursor on my system, but I wasn't moving the mouse 1 pixel at a time either

Edit: Ok, just happened to me again, and I too got a nice video of it. No forbidden cursor though, just the cursor disappearing under the breadcrumb bar in one pane (the other pane was fine, as shown in the video in the post above as well).

I found a way to reproduce it now, after many tests: I have to drag&drop a file over the breadcrumb bar. I don't need to drop it there, but one of the directories has to be underlined to get the effect. After cancelling the drag operation, there will be no cursor shown over the breadcrumb bar.

Can you confirm that? Do you get the problem also when NOT using drag&drop? If yes, after what operation?

Yes, I can confirm that the drag and drop triggers it here as well. One problem - I don't normally drag and drop, so it wasn't the trigger for the problem on my system. I would say that there is multiple triggers for it. Unfortunately, try as I might - and I have tried - I cannot work out what in particular triggers it on my system. It just happens.

Still, if you fix the drag and drop cause, it might fix mine as well.

I couldn't find any other trigger, so please let me know if you find one.

I will - for what it is worth, the dragging thing you identified is a 100% trigger on my system (I've randomly tried it a few times since the first time I tried it, and the breadcrumb bar problem happens every time).
