[x64] b3 History and Directory Buttons with Tabs

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[x64] b3 History and Directory Buttons with Tabs

Post by *romulous »

When you have no tabs in a pane, the History and Directory buttons are grey, the same colour as the drivebar just above it. However, when you create a new tab in a window, the buttons change to white. It doesn't happen with 7.56a or the x86 x32 build of TC8.

Do you mean the asterisk and "triangle down" buttons? If you do, I can not confirm it (Win7x64, TC8b3x64).

Yep, those are the buttons. I forgot to mention that I am not using any different Windows themes, just the normal Aero one you get upon installing Win 7.

I confirm this under XP x64 (Luna theme).

I don't use any theme, so this bug is theme related.

This isn't a bug, it's happening because these buttons are transparent. The background on tabs is white with the default themes (see e.g. the system information dialog). This white background doesn't work in the 32-bit version, that's why you get this little difference.

Ah. Ironically, I actually prefer the buggy behaviour in 7.56 and 8.0 x32. The white tabs look "jarring" and out of place against the grey TC background colour.

I know, but unfortunately that's how the tab sheets are drawn by the theme... :(
