Overlay icons are not drawn on unknown files

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Overlay icons are not drawn on unknown files

Post by *fabiochelly »

Hi,

I use TortoiseSVN and I just noticed that my PHP files don't have overlay icons like in Explorer. As soon as I have associated those files with a program, overlay icons appeared.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce it. I have just installed TortoiseSVN-1.7.1.22161-x64-svn-1.7.1.msi (the latest 64-bit version) on a system where Tortoise has never been installed. Then I created a sample repository, added some files to it, and loaded the files to a directory. Both files with known extension and icon and files without get the Tortoise overlay icons.

I tried it with a fresh wincmd.ini, can you try that too? Start TC with command
c:\totalcmd\totalcmd.exe /i=c:\totalcmd\freshtc.ini
Then enable overlay icons in Configuration - Options - Icons.

Does anyone else have this problem? I have tested Tortoise for a while now, no problems with files with no association.
