Hello, Roman.
My guess will be that they are not.
Yet, in order to be sure, it would be necessary to use the forum search and create two lists:
+ requestors (those asking for a 64-bit T.C. before it existed)
+ rejectors (those stating that there is no real need for a 64-bit T.C. since it has been first published)
Only those whose names appear in both lists match the quoted Q/A.
I have not taken the time and created those two lists. The quoted Q/A simply reflects my impression as a regular forum visitor: While the 64-bit version was still far away people kept on demanding it. No-one stated it were not needed at that time. - Now that the 64-bit version exists, one might have the impression that no-one really wanted to have it and that there were no real need for it.
Kind regards,
Karl

Well, in the near future will 64bit become the new standard. This work have to be done some day - the earlier, the better. I remember similar discussions on this board about 16bit <-> 32bit and the very evil WinXP.

When one say, the Plugins will not work for TC64 - competitors like Double Commander or Speed Commander (both uses the same plugins like Total Commander) are neglecting the Total Commander.
When I install (for example) Speed Commander, I would not even recognize, it is a 64-bit installer. It just works. Problem?

16Bit -> 32Bit was a neccessary point for continuing the developement wich 64Bit is clearly not.
Win3.x was released 1990
Win95 was release 1995
WinXp 64Bit was release 2001 still 32Bit architectur is what you mainly find in firms.
The only reason Win7 64Bit now gets to more people is the fact that PCs sold these days with more then 3GB Ram therefor need an 64Bit OS.
If that wouldnt be the case 64Bit Os would be dead and unused as WinXP 64Bit

Hoecker sie sind raus!

64bit will be in the next few (less than 5 years) the new standard.
I suppose... as like you - about not to be.
What kind of facts can determine that?
Exactly the abundance of applications, plugins and so on.
Of course is not a very important step now. This is not my suggestion about 64bit TC.
I want clearly to know which is the best method to promote the work behind the 64-bit TC version. It is a huge step, in my opinion and it is not enough promoted.
Also for unregistered version as well I suggest to let users knows about the existence of 64-bit TC version - when they use 32bit on 64bit OS platforms.
This is not a technical topic. It's just about marketing.
Because Total Commander (Mr. Ghisler) deserve that.
My Best Wishes,
Eugen

Windows XP x64 Edition was released in 2005. The 64-bit version released in 2001 was for Itanium processors (different instruction set).Sir_SiLvA wrote:WinXp 64Bit was release 2001...
The lack of plugins is the only issue for TC 64-bit right now. As soon as plugins catch up, the 32-bit version will go away very quickly.
