In option (in operation) when is selected: Rename only the file name when renaming (not the extention), this works only when the file is renaming with mouse double click.
When you use redefine hotkey for quick renaming [cm_RenameSingleFile], the selection immediately jumps to the extention too.
x64 version - hotkey renaming selects extention

I can confirm this ONLY when cm_RenameSingleFile is run from the command line either as cm_RenameSingleFile os an an alias.
If I use the command in a Button, a Menu item, a Start menu item, a Start menu shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+F6), or assign it to a Keyboard shortcut (Win+F6) it works OK.
It also works directly from the command line in th 32bit version (also as alias).

I can confirm it, but it would be too much work to fix for the relatively small gain. The problem is caused by the focus change from the command line to the rename box, back and again to the command line.

Does that mean that you, as I, can only confirm it when using the command line - or can you also confirm random's observation when redefining a hotkey to cm_RenameSingleFileI can confirm it...

Yes.can only confirm it when using the command line
I didn't try that, just the button bar. What hotkey did you define? where was the cursor when you pressed the hotkey?can you also confirm random's observation when redefining a hotkey to cm_RenameSingleFile
