Access violation rereading busy USB HDD

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Access violation rereading busy USB HDD

Post by *Hacker »

Hi Christian,
I pressed Ctrl-Tab to get to a tab pointing to a dir on a USB HDD that has spun down. TC was "frozen" (waiting for the directory data I assume) and I pressed Ctrl-F3 and End during that time so that when the data is read the directory would be sorted by name and the curosr would be at the end. Then, immediately as the dialog box where I could cancel the reading of the dir appeared (ThreadFindFirst=1) I got the following access violation:

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Thanks, I will analyze it. Are you able to reproduce the error, or was it one time only?
