[8.0ß9 x32] Dir Copy (Shift+F5) match trailing \ to Sub-Dir

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[8.0ß9 x32] Dir Copy (Shift+F5) match trailing \ to Sub-Dir

Post by *Leggless »

When copying a directory to the same directory using Shift+F5 and typing in the new name in the dialog, if the name starts to match any existing directories, a drop-down is displayed with these matching directory names but with a trailing \, which wasn't there in previous versions. If the trailing \ remains when OK is pressed, the selected directory is copied as a sub-directory to the name entered whether the directory exists or not.

Worked ok without the trailing \ in [8.0ß8 x32bit] on Windows XP

Yes, this is intentional and NOT a bug! It was annoying that you got the "Do you really want to move..." error even when you chose the directory from the suggestion list. In this case (with the trailing backslash) it should really be clear that you want to move the file or dir to that subdir.
