Location of Help on menu bar

Post by *gdallal »

Is there a way to move Help from the right of the menu bar over to the left to join the other menu items?

After reading the Help file, I learned about Menu files. The only one I could find was c:\Program Files\TotalCommander\LANGUAGE\WCMD_ENG.MNU
The entry HELP_BREAK looked promising. I deleted it and restarted TC, but with no effect. As an experiment, I tried changing some of the entries ("Keyboard" to "KeyboardXYZ", for example) again with no effect even after rebooting the computer. TC Viewer shows WCMD_ENG.MNU is, in fact, modified. I then searched this forum for "help" & "menu" only to find the suggestion that I do what I'd already tried.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to move the Help item?

Thanks!

AFAIK removing HELP_BREAK should help.

Do you surely use WCMD_ENG.MNU ?

I simply delete HELP_BREAK and HELP menu join to the left.
Are you sure c:\Program Files\TotalCommander\LANGUAGE\WCMD_ENG.MNU is the menu file you are using?

By default, TC uses an internal menu when you choose 'English'. You have to explicitly load wcmd_eng.mnu in Configuration - Language to use the changed menu file.
