[8.0ß11] String with ID Nr 5106 not found

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[8.0ß11] String with ID Nr 5106 not found

Post by *MikusR »

With Total Commander main window open when i press multimedia key (play/pause) on keyboard, this error shows up.
Error: String with ID Nr 5106 not found, please contact author!
Also multimedia keys ("next track" acts like tab) and ("previous track" acts like ctrl+tab).
7.55 those keys work as they should.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

What should the next and previous track keys do while TC is in the foreground? They don't do anything at all in TC 7.55, and no media player in the background sees them either. The only multimedia keys which seem to work while TC is in the foreground are volume +,- and mute.

That's wrong. When I had a keyboard with multimedia keys (some simple Mitsumi) the next/prev track keys worked excellently while my player (foobar2000) was in background. As well as pause/play keys.

Do you have a Logitech keyboard with Logitech software installed? I have seen cases where Logitech SetPoint breaks multimedia keys.

Both foobar2000 and Windows Media Player can be controlled while in background.

Ah, I didn't know that there are players which can do this - according to my tests, TC didn't receive the multimedia keys while in background.

I will therefore turn off this multimedia key handling in the next version and make it optional via wincmd.ini.
