[8.0ß11-x64] Inplace rename, button disappears

Post by *Flint »

1. Set InplaceOkButton to 1 or 2.
2. Open inplace renaming box for a file or dir.
3. Press cursor left or right one or more times, until it is located at the very right or left end of the file name, and press the same cursor key once more (as if you wished to move cursor outside of the file name borders).
4. The rename confirmation button disappears.

Confirmed.
Also, taken from the help topic:
InplaceOkButton=1 Show button to confirm inplace rename:
1: to the left
2: to the right
0 do not show
Values 1 and 2 do exactly the opposite, i.e. InplaceOkButton=1 shows the button to the right, and vice versa.

Both observations confirmed.

IMHO the help file should be kept as it is, and TC's behaviour should be changed accordingly - e.g. InplaceOkButton=1 should be default and should mean to the left.

Disagree. Exact values don't matter, of course, but IMHO sudden replacing of a file/dir icon with a checkmark button will be too unexpected and confusing for most users. So I'm of the opinion that "right" should remain default (whatever its value is).

Confirmed, thanks! Cursor right at the right edge triggers a "turn off" event, which is denied by TC (but the button is still hidden by mistake).
