copy/move fail

If root "/"mount r/o all copy/move operations fail. I checked root functions everywhere but still continue fail.
I run the root explorer and change the mount type r/w, tc copy/move fails solved.

tested;
tc, b2 and b3. b4 download link is wrong go to b3.
android all rooted, 2.3.3 2.3.5 2.3.7 4.0.1b2

Why tc need to be root explorer

Me too.

Cannot copy any APK to "/system/app". Doesnt matter if "Root functions everywhere" is checked or not.

To be able to write to a protected file system like /system/app, there are three conditions:
1. The file system must be read/write. To change it from read only, please add a button to the button bar:
Button type: Internal command
Command: 119

The button will show "r" for read only file systems "rw" for read+write. You can tap on it to change the state. Note that Android uses separate file systems for some folders like /data !

2. The directory in which you work must allow writing too! You cancheck the directory permissions by holding the finger down on the folder until the context menu appears, then open the properties.

3. To modify a certain file, you need to have write rights to that file! You can check that in the properties of that file.

No, 99% of all users probably never root their devices (myself included).

Also it's not possible to detect whether a drive is rooted or not, except by trying to use a root command - but this would result in the "allow root" dialog from the system. I don't want to show that to the user on the first usage...

Ok, of course i respect and understand your decision.

i like TC on PC very very much, and i think it should be the same on android. i like the handling with favorites and 2 side directories etc...

but unfortunately i have to take root-explorer very often if tc fails when copying files where root access is needed.

i would like to support the development with reporting and detailled error messages. do you have a debug version where you can see why some things are not working?
mostly copy, rename on /system folder...

OT: Root is a nice thing for small little modifications! no boot sound, AppWidgetPicker.apk (groups widget to a folder hierarchy), battery mods with "%", TitaniumBackup, Nandroid Backup - i dont like custom roms! but for small things...
