Where is ftp info now stored?

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Where is ftp info now stored?

Used to be in wcx_ftp.ini, but a new install of recent 8.x betas doesnt seem to see my saved ftp ini file. I suspect this might be an issue since I USED to be able to look at Help >>About Totalcommander and see the path to it:

Trying to run TCx64 8.0 b17 if it matters.

5h17h34d,
Any command line options you run TC with?

Roman
Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Also, on install I tell it to put ini files in the app directory. Seems as though something has changed with the x64 version.

Something is wrong in your registry - it seems that wincmd.ini is set for both normal and ftp settings, which is wrong. I really wonder how you managed to get that.

To fix, please run regedit.exe and go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler\Total Commander

Then change the string value named FtpIniName to point to your wcx_ftp.ini.

Yea, I thought it was very odd too. Only thing it could be that's not built into TC is I did run inireloc when it was wrong after the initial install. Thanks for the registry fix.

Yes, some users had this problem with inireloc, but I never managed to reproduce it. Do you remember what options you chose in inireloc?

Yes, after it didnt work the first time (program dir) I actually chose the path to the same directory. Neither worked. I suspect it may have something to do with an old install I had under a different login on the same machine.

Which begs the question... I guess it would not be possible to have several different installs with different ini files on the same machine since it appears to use that global registry setting to look for the ini files?

The previous install for the other login was c:\totalcmd whereas this new install I actually put it in my user folder.
